    26 ft box trucks

Box truck dispatch for 26 ft trucks: pallet loads, liftgate pay on the rate con, and your yes on every load.

Box truck dispatch lives in the details: a liftgate stop nobody priced, an appointment window that eats the afternoon, a residential delivery the posting forgot to mention. Our box truck dispatcher desk books 26 ft trucks, CDL or non-CDL, and gets those details on the rate con before the offer reaches you.

Build a 26 ft load: what fits on the floor, and what it should pay.

A box truck load has two questions before price: does it fit, and what extra work comes with it. The floor plan on the left places pallets on a 26 ft box. Put in your pallet count, size and your truck's inside length and width; inside measurements vary by body builder, so the starting values are only a guide. Switch between straight, turned and pinwheel to see the linear feet change.

The stack on the right is the money side of the same load. A partial with a liftgate delivery and an inside drop pays differently from a dock-to-dock run, and detention at an appointment-only receiver can matter as much as the linehaul. Change the amounts to a load you ran, and see the fee at 5% with lumper money set aside.

The accessorials we put on every box truck rate con.

    • Liftgate

Many box truck deliveries go to places without a dock: stores, job sites, small warehouses. Lowering freight on the liftgate is extra time and wear, and it's a separate charge on a lot of freight. We ask for it before you accept, so it isn't free work.

    • Inside delivery

Moving freight past the door, into a back room or up a floor, takes time and sometimes a second person. If a receiver expects it, it should be on the rate con with a price, not a surprise at the door.

    • Residential

Home deliveries mean tight streets, no dock and customers who may not be home. Residential is often its own accessorial. We check that it's priced and that the appointment is confirmed before you roll. Our guide on residential freight shipping explains how shippers see it.

    • Appointments and detention

Box truck loads often run on tight windows at busy receivers. We get free time and an hourly detention rate in writing, so a two-hour wait for a door is billable instead of lost.

    • TONU

Local and short-haul loads cancel more than people expect. A flat truck-ordered-not-used amount on the rate con means a cancelled load after you've rolled still pays something.

    • Pallet jack and driver assist

If you're expected to break down pallets or jack them off, that's work beyond driving. We find out before booking and ask for driver-assist pay when it applies.

What a box truck dispatcher checks before an offer reaches you.

A box truck makes money on short and regional runs, often several stops a day, so the details that sink a tractor load slowly can sink a box truck load fast. Before we bring you a load, we check:

    • Weight against your payload, with the empty weight you gave us, not the posted estimate.
    • Pallet count and size against your inside length and width.
    • Every stop, and whether each one needs a dock, a liftgate or hand work.
    • Appointment windows that actually fit with drive time between stops.
    • Where the last stop leaves you, and what reloads from there.

Box trucks are also good for expedited and final-mile work that a 53 ft trailer can't do. We look for that freight on purpose, because it can pay well per mile and often keeps you closer to home.

Non CDL box truck dispatch, or CDL: what changes.

The line is the truck's weight rating. A single vehicle rated at 26,001 lb GVWR or more needs a CDL; a 26 ft box rated at 26,000 lb or less doesn't, as long as it isn't hauling placarded hazmat. Plenty of 26 ft boxes are built right at that line, so check the door sticker.

Non-CDL: lighter payload, so we plan loads well inside it. No DOT drug and alcohol testing program applies. A big pool of local and regional freight fits.

CDL: more payload and some heavier freight opens up. Under your own authority you're both employer and driver for DOT testing, so you need a random testing pool before the first load.

Either way, tell us your truck's GVWR, its empty weight and whether you have a liftgate, and we only offer loads it can legally carry.

We dispatch 26 ft box trucks and larger equipment. We don't take box trucks under 26 ft, cargo vans or sprinter vans.

Box truck offers come to you like every other: the lane, the stops, the rate and the accessorials. If a multi-stop load has three liftgate deliveries and pays like one, we'll say so. You accept or decline, the rate con goes straight to you, and passing costs nothing.

Tell us what you won't do, too: no residential, no inside delivery, no hand-unloads, no city centers. We filter for it, so you only see loads that fit how you run.

Box truck dispatch service at the same rate as everyone else.

Some box truck dispatch companies charge box trucks more than tractors. We don't. One truck past 6 months of authority pays 5%, two or more pay 4%, and a new MC pays 7% until month 7. The fee comes off linehaul and the accessorial pay we collect, never off lumper money, tolls or scale tickets. Details on the pricing page.

Running more than box trucks? Every truck type gets the same rules. See car hauler dispatch or go back to our truck dispatch service.

    Box truck dispatch questions

How much does box truck dispatch cost?
The same as any truck we dispatch: 5% of linehaul and accessorial pay for one truck with 6 months or more of authority, 4% for two trucks or more, and 7% while your MC is under 6 months old. Box trucks don't pay more. Lumper money, tolls and scale tickets are never in the fee, and idle weeks cost nothing.
Do you dispatch box trucks smaller than 26 ft?
No. We dispatch 26 ft box trucks and larger equipment. We don't take box trucks under 26 ft, cargo vans or sprinter vans. We keep to the 26 ft size because that's where we know the freight, the brokers and the accessorials well, and we'd rather tell you that now than book a smaller truck badly.
How many pallets fit in a 26 ft box truck?
It depends on your inside dimensions, so measure yours. As floor math, with about 312 inches of inside length, standard 48 by 40 inch pallets loaded two across fit 12 deep-side first, or 14 turned if your inside width is at least 96 inches. Weight and your payload limit usually decide before the floor does.
Do box truck loads pay for liftgate service?
Often, when it's on the rate con. Liftgate delivery is a separate accessorial on a lot of box truck freight, and so are inside delivery and residential stops. If the posting doesn't mention them, we ask before you accept, because a liftgate stop that wasn't priced is just extra work for the same money.
Can you dispatch a non-CDL box truck?
Yes. A 26 ft box rated at 26,000 lb GVWR or less runs without a CDL, and we plan loads within its payload. Non-CDL trucks aren't in the DOT drug and alcohol testing program, so you won't need a consortium. If your box is rated above 26,000 lb, it needs a CDL and the testing program applies.
Can you dispatch a new MC box truck?
Yes. Some brokers won't book a new authority, so we start with those who will on your lanes. The fee is 7% until month 7, then 5% with one truck. We help you get the first loads right on paperwork, which matters more than rate in the first weeks.

Keep the box full and the liftgate paid.

Send the application with your truck's size, GVWR and liftgate. Your first offer comes with the accessorials priced.

You approve every load. No setup fee. No contract.
